Gray to Green

  We held our student webinar on May 9, eTwinnnig day. We commemorated eTwinning day. We did some great activities like a Kahoot contest and word cloud. It was a very enjoyable meeting. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

  This is a poster prepared by my student Berat Enes about how we can save water at home.

My student measured their water footprints. They promissed to save water. They said they would inform their friends about this.

  We prepared seed balls with our students. We left our seed balls in suitable places in our school garden. We placed plum, apricot, date, apple and watermelon seeds into our seed balls.

My students Suna, Ahmet Yusuf and Efsa prepared a billboard to promote our project at school. They gave information about gray water and shared visuals of their work.

  We searched for answers to the questions of what we can do about water saving by conducting interviews with our students in English, in accordance with our project language.

  We celebrated our 20th anniversary with a special video shoot for eTwenning at our school.

  In the joint product study we carried out with all partner schools, we illustrated the storybook given to us as a task.

  We made seed balls. We threw these seed balls into the forest during our nature walk.

  Together with our students, we collected the seeds of the fruits and vegetables we eat at home and made seed balls out of them. When these seed balls reach a suitable humidity and temperature, the seeds inside them sprout and germinate. We threw these seed balls into the forest during our nature walk.   In order to use water more economically, we calculated our water footprint and watched the documentary 25 LITRES on the subject.

  We calculated our water consumption with numerical values ​​using Water Footprint Calculation applications with our students. We discussed what we can do to reduce our water consumption.

This project aims to raise awareness among students aged 13-17 about global warming, drought and unconscious consumption of fresh water resources, and to encourage them to produce solutions for sustainable water use. Within the scope of the five-month project, students will conduct research on the global water crisis, participate in interviews with experts, and carry out awareness studies by developing solutions for water saving. While the project supports the protection of freshwater resources with Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it draws attention to the effects of global warming on water resources with Goal 13 (Climate Action). Additionally, students are provided with environmental awareness and problem-solving skills within the scope of Goal 4 (Quality Education), while international cooperation is encouraged in line with Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
